Aftercare abroad: records to keep and how to get help from home

Once you are home, the clinic can only help from a distance. A small folder of records and a known way to reach them make the weeks after the trip much easier.

Records worth keeping

Start a single trip folder, in your phone gallery or a cloud drive, and add to it as you go.

  • Treatment name, date and the doctor's name
  • Device or product names, with quantities such as shots or cc
  • The number of sessions planned and when the next one was suggested
  • The signed consent form and the itemised receipt
  • The aftercare sheet, in English if possible
  • Photos from before treatment and from each day after, in similar light

Agree on a channel before you leave

On your last visit, ask which app or email the clinic uses for follow-up questions, who reads it, and in what language. Save it in your contacts under the clinic's name.

When to see a doctor locally

A message thread cannot replace an examination. If you notice spreading redness, increasing pain, fever, blistering, discharge or changes in your vision, see a doctor where you are without waiting for a reply from Seoul, and show them your records.

Continuing a course at home

If more sessions were suggested, a clinic in your home country may be able to continue. Your records let them see what was used and when, although they will make their own assessment.

Aftercare abroad: common questions

How long should I keep the records?

At least until the planned course is finished. Many people keep them longer, since a future doctor may ask what was done and when.

What if the clinic does not reply?

If your skin worries you, see a local doctor first. Then send one clear message with your name, treatment date and photos, and keep a copy.

Can I use my usual skincare after returning?

Some active ingredients may need to wait. Follow the timing on the aftercare sheet, and ask the clinic before you restart them early.
