Thermage FLX

Thermage FLX is a monopolar radiofrequency system. See how to confirm it and ask about tips, pulses, and comfort.

How it works

Thermage FLX, made by Solta Medical, is a monopolar radiofrequency (RF) system. A single handpiece sends RF energy into the deeper skin while the surface is cooled in short bursts. The heat is meant to tighten existing collagen right away and to prompt new collagen over time. The provider changes the tip size, the energy, and the number of pulses for each area. Results vary, and treatment is not suitable for everyone.

Good to know

  • Tips differ in size and are chosen for the face, eyes, or body.
  • Pulse counts are often listed in the plan. Ask what is being counted.
  • Heat is common. Tell the provider if a spot feels too hot.
  • Redness, swelling, and rarely burns or uneven contour changes are possible.

Asking about Thermage FLX in English

The word "Thermage" is sometimes used for any RF lifting. If you want this exact product, ask the coordinator to write "Thermage FLX" in your plan and tell you the tip type. Ask whether the tip is new for you.

Pulse numbers can sound like a promise. They are not. Ask your doctor, "What does this number cover, and what is the energy level?" Then ask what you should say if heat becomes too strong. Keep a copy of the settings so you can discuss them on a later visit.

Thermage FLX: common questions

How do I know if the tip is genuine?

Ask to see the tip packaging and the device name on the screen. Most providers can show you.

What does the pulse number mean?

It counts how many times energy is delivered. It does not predict how you will look.

How soon is it safe to repeat?

Timing depends on your skin and plan. Ask for a written interval from the doctor.
